Welcome To 2010!

Hello, everyone, and happy new year!

2009 was a great year.  I’ll bet 2010 will be even better!

A few days ago, Rich and I went to Ken’s Lake, and I had a little fun.  Rich hiked to Faux Falls (above the lake), and took pictures there.  All the pictures from that little excursion were taken by Rich.  I didn’t take my camera, because I wanted to skate.  I had a great time, although it was VERY cold.  It hasn’t been above freezing in Moab at all for about 3 weeks.  This is incredibly unusual for Moab.  The lake is frozen good and hard, though.  Yea!

Below is a video of me skating, with some still pictures included.  Below that are some more still pictures, so you can see them better.

Your penguin impression in the middle row, left, photo says a lot about how cold it was. Kudos to Rich for his great video.

  • Hi Katie,

    Katie,
OMG that is awesome! Where did you get the skates? I remember a winter like the one were having now I think I was 12, anyway somehow I had a pair of ice skates and would go to the pond at our place and skate. The falling was always painful. Lol Great job skating! You looked so elegant :)

  • A bit late to the party…but wanted to say Have A Great New Year! Looks like fun but BRR Freezin’ to me!

  • Rachel:

Holy Cow! I don’t ever remember seeing Ken’s Lake solid enough to skate on! Man, that looks great…enough to make a girl a little nostalgic. Hope you guys are surviving all the storms in your area! We’re thinking of you up here in Logan!
